A Computer Adaptive Test (CAT) estimates the ability level of the test taker while the test is in progress. This item-by-item estimation allows the test to adapt to the ability level of the test taker dynamically. One of the primary advantages of a CAT is that it yields a shorter and more accurate test than a traditional fixed form, because a traditional test must waste items that are both too easy and too difficult.

Program Management refers generally to the management of education and workplace data as it pertains to students, clients, participants, employees or candidates. Specifically, Team Code has particular expertise in programs related to literacy and the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Title I and Title II. Nevertheless, our applications lend themselves to management information systems in general.

Large Scale Assessment is traditionally defined as the measuring of student progress at the local, state or national level. However, it is no longer just government and education that has an interest in assessing large numbers of people. Today business and industry are also testing hundreds of thousands of persons on a daily basis to determine workplace preparedness and to assist with hiring.

A computer based test (CBT) is generally converted from a paper and pencil test (PPT), but may also be authored originally for the computer. CBT has many advantages over PPT including, but not limited to, automated scoring, immediate response, standardized administration, greater efficiency, more accommodations for disabilities, reduced examinee error, and integration with management systems

An Item Bank is a key component for organizations that are authoring and maintaining their own test items. The item bank database stores all of the statistical attributes of the item, as well as its performance within tests, and the history of its development. A Curriculum Management database, on the other hand, is essential for organizations that assist their students or participants to improve their skills.
